Daegu FC's Oh Seung-hoon "pleased" with win over Jeonbuk following "very difficult" start
Q: Congratulations on your cleansheet and the first win of the season. How are you feeling?
A: "First of all, since the season started I haven't been able to put on the kind of performances that I would have liked to, I've looked a bit uncomfortable and it's been a very difficult [start to the] season [for me]. But we picked up our first win of the season at home after four matches played so I'm pleased and to be able to make the players, coaching staff, and fans happy then that's pleasing as well."
Q: In Daegu's last three games, Daegu dropped points in a disappointing manner and you were given the blame for that. How did you pick yourselves up?
A: "First of all, if I was younger then I would have tried to find some way to overcome it, but even as a veteran I am still not sure. So I thought about how I could overcome this, but anyway, I thought the only way I can do that is by performing on the pitch, so I think I did my best to prepare for the game."
Q: You recorded the first cleansheet of the season today. Obviously, Jeonbuk were pushing so hard for an equaliser through their dangerous assets until Cesinha scored the second goal of today. How did you cope with their onslaught?
A: "First, there were no players who didn't perform well today, they all did their best in their roles. Behind them, I shouted and tried to do the best that I could so that we could keep a cleansheet. I can't say that it's because I played well that we got a cleansheet, it's because of the defenders in front of me and the forward players too who all worked extremely hard. That's how we were able to beat Jeonbuk."
Q: Today's game saw the record-high attendance for Daegu with over 12,000. How did you find it and do you have any words for the fans?
A: "I think this is the first time I have seen a sellout since I came to Daegu but I got goosebumps because of how many fans came to this great stadium and cheered for us. Even now, I still haven't really calmed down [from the atmosphere]. If [the fans] continue to come like this, I think the players will be able to continue their performances, so I hope many fans come."
